An Arden Batik Update

Update -- June 08

Pine Trees on Island

It was a long and snowy winter in Arden; I continued to work away at batiking in my winter studio (an upstairs room in my house.) In April, I attended a conference in Austin, Texas, on the subject of the arts and the church, two of my favourite topics. I found the lectures stimulating, met a lot of interesting fellow artists, and joined CIVA (Christians in Visual Arts.) I also enjoyed an early hit of blossoming wildflowers; getting to experience springtime twice is an advantage of strategic travel.

Now I have moved back into my summer studio and shop, and have lots of new work and assorted gift items to show when you come by. Early in July, the three women of Arden Artisans, Joanne Pickett, Judith Versavel, and I are having a garden party in our village studios. We hope to have lots of flowers to show off, as well as opportunities to enjoy views of Big Clear Lake - and some of the art inspired by the gardens and lakes in this area. Fancy dress is encouraged, although not required, and we hope you will put on your best hat and join us for refreshments and conversation from 10 to 5 on Saturday, July 5.
